The Hancock House is located in Bushwick, Brooklyn, just a block from Irving Square Park and walking distance to an endless array of shops, dining and entertainment. The neighborhood is known as a creative bastion of Brooklyn, and residents of the Hancock House will find vibrant street art throughout the neighborhood.
The house itself is a classic Brooklyn row house, with a stone facade and large bay windows for natural light. The interior of the Hancock House has been renovated for a new generation of residents, while maintaining the exposed-brick walls and hardwood floors so common to classic Brooklyn homes
As in much of Brooklyn, Bushwick’s coffee shops, bars, art galleries and performance dot the neighborhood’s avenues, while the streets maintain a residential feel thanks to the strong community residents have built over the years. Bushwick is the perfect neighborhood to experience a unique part of Brooklyn that is often overlooked. Our favorite eateries include the perfect pizza at Roberta’s, Ethiopian cuisine at Bunna Cafe and the popular Taiwanese food at Win Son. If you’re looking for a green space to retreat to, just head on over to Irving Square Park, only a block away, or Maria Hernandez Park, a center for community activities in the neighborhood.
The nearest subway station is the Halsey St stop on the L line, less than 10 minutes’ walking from the house. You can also walk to the Halsey St stop on the J/Z lines in less than 15 minutes and the Knickerbocker stop on the M line in 15 minutes flat. The B20 and B26 bus routes stop around the corner from the house, and the nearest Citibike docking station is less than a block away.

All payments are sent as electronic invoices sent to your email. You may pay in any electronic format; property discourages cash or checks, though it is possible. For your first month's rent, you will receive an invoice to pay after being approved as a resident. For all future month's payments, when you pay depends on when you move in.
If you aren’t moving in on the first day of the month, your first month's invoice will be for one month starting from your move-in date. For the second invoice, you will be billed a prorated amount until the last day of the month. After that, all future months will be billed from the first day of the month to the last day of the month.
If you are moving in on the first of the month, your rent is always due on the first of the month, with no pro-rated invoices. Contact a Unilodgers booking specialist for more information
If you would like to cancel during your stay, you will be responsible for two additional payments: the payment of your next month’s rent, plus a $690 Tenant Replacement Fee. So, for example it's January 14th, and you have already paid for the month of January. Now you would like to cancel. You will be responsible for paying for the month of February, plus a $690 Tenant Replacement Fee.
Property is also able to waive off $690 tenant replacement fee and 30 days notice if you find someone that is willing to take over your lease, goes through their process and meets their criteria. Contact a Unilodgers booking specialist for more information
